Responsibilities

• Prepare lessons with accommodations for individual differences.
• Prepare for classes and show written evidence of preparation on request.
• Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
• Guide learning toward curriculum goals and communicate objectives to students.
• Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media.
• Assess students' progress and provide reports.
• Refer students for evaluation when needed.
• Maintain records as required by policy and law.
• Assist administration in enforcing policies.
• Develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and maintain order.
• Be available to students and parents for education-related purposes.
• Plan and supervise teacher aides and volunteers; evaluate performance.
