Job summary

Manhattan Day School is seeking an experienced Early Childhood Head Teacher to join the EC team on the Upper West Side. The role focuses on warmth, developmentally appropriate practice, and strong family partnerships.

The ideal candidate brings 2–5+ years of EC classroom experience, a deep understanding of child development, and the ability to lead a joyful, play-based learning environment. Bachelor’s (Master’s preferred) is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Early Childhood Education (Master's preferred).
• 2–5+ years of classroom teaching in early childhood.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Our Early Childhood program is rooted in relationship-based learning, developmentally responsive practice, joyful exploration, and strong partnership with families. We are looking for an educator who brings intention, creativity, and a deep understanding of early childhood development to the classroom.
