Job summary

Community Action Agency South Central Michigan seeks an Assistant Teacher to support classroom staff and engage with children and families in our HS/EHS/GSRP programs. Responsibilities include assisting with meals, activities, and daily program planning, while ensuring a clean, welcoming classroom environment and adherence to policies and procedures.

Minimum high school diploma or GED is required; CDA is preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: Minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required. CDA is preferred.
• Experience: Six months in early childhood development preferred.
• Bilingual language ability is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom staff and cooperate in a supportive role in the classroom.
• Assist in the distribution, delivery and cleanup of meals.
• Assist in implementing large and small group activities.
• Assist in providing contact with families and continuity of care for children.
• Engage with children and families and participate in recruitment/events as scheduled.
• Perform duties to maintain a clean, organized and inviting classroom.
