Job summary

Navajo Technical University seeks a dedicated childcare aide to support early childhood education for children aged six months to nine years. You will help implement lesson plans, support language and social development, and assist with daily routines in a nurturing classroom setting.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, a Child Development Associate certificate, a food handler permit, and First Aid/CPR.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.
Experience working with children at the pre-school level preferred.
Child Development Associate certificate.
Current Food Handlers Permit.
First Aid and CPR Certificate.
Valid and clean state driver's license.
Must pass background check, with NO prior convictions of any felonies and no history of child abuse and/or neglect.

Responsibilities

Assist with implementation of lesson plans to develop children's physical, emotional, intellectual, and social growth.
Provide stimulation activities across all curriculum areas and manage routines to avoid fatigue or over-stimulation.
Assist in play, reading, field trips, and group discussions to promote learning.
Encourage children to communicate and interact with peers and adults.
Maintain daily logs of activities and progress for each child.
Ensure cleanliness and safety of materials, classroom, and playgrounds through routine inspections and cleaning.
Assist with snacks and meals, supervise meals and post-meal cleanup.
Maintain professional knowledge through research, training, and conferences.
