Job summary

Greater Wichita YMCA is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support classroom activities and monitor developmental progress of children aged birth through six years in a group setting. You will assist the lead Teacher with lessons, supervise activities, and communicate with families.

Responsibilities include following lesson plans, maintaining a safe and organized environment, and supporting discipline and learning goals as directed by the Teacher/Director.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom Teacher to implement weekly lessons and activities and monitor developmental progress of students.
• Follow posted lesson plans and classroom schedule as directed by Teacher.
• Participate in planning.
• Record observations as directed by Teacher for developmental progress and behavior concerns.
• Facilitate childrens learning through participation and encouragement.
• Assist any child who needs fed/changed/taken care of, etc.
• Supervise playground activities.
