Job summary

Garfield County School District No.16 is seeking a Preschool Paraprofessional to support classroom teachers in creating a warm, inclusive learning environment. You will follow lesson plans, assist with activities, manage materials, and monitor child progress while maintaining safety and confidentiality.

Responsibilities include setting up centers, assisting during meals and nap time, and helping with parent communications and professional development to maintain Colorado Shines credentials.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Oral and written communication skills.
• CPR and First Aid certifications encouraged.
• Knowledge of developmental, emotional, and behavioral disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Helps the teacher create a warm and accepting community of learners and nurtures each child in the context of his/her family.
• Follow the teacher's plans and helps organize and implement activities using Creative Curriculum Goals and Objectives as a framework.
• Observe children's progress and collect facts to analyze and plan for each child and the group.
• Help the teacher track children's progress using the Continuum and Individual Portfolios and share information through home visits and conferences.
