Job summary

The position is full-time with day shifts, Monday through Friday, and no weekends or holidays. Requires a High School Diploma and ongoing Early Childhood Education training, plus prior experience with children is valued.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must earn annual continuing education hours in Early Childhood Education.
• Mandatory Reporter Training within 6 months of hire and every 3 years.
• 1–2 years of previous work experience with children is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center policies and laws to ensure ethical, professional behavior.
• Supervises children and ensures safety, reporting hazards and incidents.
• Creates an engaging environment aligned with developmental needs of children.
• Delivers planned activities and meets physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs of children.
• Demonstrates positive reinforcement and redirection techniques.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

State Mandatory hours of continuing education in Early Childhood Education per year

Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training (within 6 months of hire and every 3 years)

1–2 years experience with children or Early Childhood Education training
