Job summary

Ventura County Community College District is seeking a temporary Child Development Assistant at Oxnard College. Under supervision, you will support the Early Childhood Education program and supervise children in a classroom setting.

You will assist with lesson planning, materials preparation, and daily activities, while ensuring health and safety standards. This position is on-site in Oxnard, with continuous closing and comprehensive at-will employment considerations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 12 units in ECE or CD, including 3 units for infants/toddlers.
• Associate degree in ECE/CD with core ECE/CD coursework and 1 year experience in an ECE setting.
• Bachelor's degree in ECE/CD with core classes including infant/toddler units.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing an Early Childhood Education program under supervision.
• Prepare materials for reading, math, art, sciences, and assist children and centers.
• Organize and supervise children during activities and rest periods.
• Maintain a neat and orderly classroom environment and help with cleanup.
• Provide information to parents and visitors about activities and classroom.
• Plan daily and long-range learning activities and assist with curriculum planning.
• Attend meetings and trainings as assigned and ensure health and safety rules are followed.
• Work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and diverse communities.

Education
