Job summary

Position Overview

Assistant Teachers are responsible for working with lead teachers to implement learning activities and manage the day-to-day operational activities of our indoor and outdoor classrooms. Assistant teachers should have an understanding of children\'s cognitive, social, emotional and physical development in order to help ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. Assistant teachers must be skilled in communicating with both children and adults in order to meet the needs of the children, as well as being able to work effectively as part of an early education team.

What You\'ll Do

• Assistant teacher responsibilities include:


• Assisting lead teacher in implementing activities in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practice and program philosophy


• Supervising children in the classrooms and the outdoor spaces


• Help establish and maintain order in the classroom


• Maintain open communication with parents and co-workers


• Maintain clean and safe indoor and outdoor spaces


• Help to maintain and complete required documentation and reports


• Maintain professional appearance, mannerisms and support center\'s philosophy and educational objectives


• Engage in on-going staff development, trainings and staff meetings

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
