Job summary

The Research Foundation of the City University of New York (RFCUNY) is seeking a classroom assistant at Queens College. The role supports the group teacher in planning daily lessons and maintaining a safe, engaging learning environment for young children.

Qualifications

• Assisting the group teacher in planning and implementing daily lesson plans.
• Maintaining routines and classroom responsibilities, including record-keeping and safety.
• Communicating with parents and supporting child development discussions.
• Participating in staff meetings and workshops.

Responsibilities

• Helping build a cooperative teaching team and supervising the group when the lead is absent.
• Attending staff meetings scheduled by the director and group teacher.
• Participating in Center fundraising and public relations events.
• Maintaining professional attitude and adhering to Center policies when relating to parents.
• Sharing housekeeping responsibilities and ensuring positive interactions with staff.
• Other duties as assigned.
