Job summary

Child Development Schools in Ooltewah, Tennessee is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support the Lead Teacher and nurture curious, confident children in a safe, loving classroom environment.

Responsibilities include delivering hands-on activities, maintaining classroom safety and organization, and documenting daily progress for families. A degree is not required, but experience with early childhood education is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 and valid background check.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Background check must be passable.
• Care for children with safety and well‑being as priority.
• Strong communication with families is essential.

Responsibilities

• Support the Lead Teacher in delivering age-appropriate lessons and activities.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom meeting licensing ratios.
• Engage directly with children during activities, meals, transitions, and outdoor time.
• Observe children and share developmental notes with the Lead Teacher.
• Build relationships with families through warm, consistent daily communication.
• Assist with classroom documentation including attendance and daily reports.
