Job summary

The Learning Experience - Oak Creek is seeking a caring and dependable Assistant Teacher to join our early childhood education team. This position offers a full-time Monday–Friday schedule and a competitive hourly pay based on experience and credentials in Oak Creek, WI.

You will work alongside experienced Lead Teachers to create safe, engaging classrooms where children learn through play, exploration, and positive relationships. This is a great opportunity to build a career in childcare.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous daycare, preschool, childcare, or experience working with children preferred.
• CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework is a plus.
• Patient, dependable, energetic, and team-oriented.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to meet Wisconsin childcare licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily support to Lead Teachers with classroom routines and learning activities.
• Engage children through play, art, music, movement, sensory activities, and hands-on learning.
• Assist with meals, diapering/toileting, rest time, outdoor play, and transitions.
• Provide attentive supervision and positive guidance.
• Help prepare classroom activities and learning materials.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment.
• Build positive relationships with children and families.
• Collaborate with teachers and center leadership.
• Provide classroom and ratio coverage as needed.
• Follow Wisconsin childcare licensing, health, and safety requirements.
