Job summary

Peninsula Family Service is seeking a friendly Teacher Aide to nurture a safe, inclusive classroom for children aged 3 months to 5 years. You will support daily activities, prepare materials, and document observations to help each child grow socially, emotionally, and cognitively.

Responsibilities include supervising children, following health and licensing standards, and collaborating with staff and families to promote development and family engagement.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6–12 ECE/Child Development units with three units in Infant/toddler development
• Preferred but not required one year of experience in a licensed childcare facility
• CPR/First Aid certification required
• Work towards Associate Teacher or higher Permit (or eligible)
• Background checks, TB tests, and immunization requirements must be met

Responsibilities

• Support implementation of daily activities and prepare materials
• Provide documentation on observations and maintain child portfolios
• Support children’s self-help skills, independence, and problem-solving abilities
• Ensure constant supervision and maintain a safe, clean classroom meeting licensing standards
• Engage families through conferences, home visits, and sharing development progress
