Job summary

WSP is seeking an Early Career Structural Engineer to join our Dallas, TX team. You will work with the Structural Engineering group on design and restoration projects across the United States, applying digital design tools and collaborating with colleagues worldwide to meet client objectives.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree in structural or civil engineering, up to one year of experience, and strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
  • 0 to 1 years of relevant post education experience.
  • Excellent research skills with analytical mindset.
  • Familiarity with design/build processes and concepts.
  • Familiarity with structural and civil construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance and record-keeping.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
  • Proactive self-leadership with attention to detail and multi-tasking in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team to meet objectives.
  • Experience with Building Information Modeling software such as Revit.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Proven track record of upholding safety and policies.

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural design of new buildings and restoration of existing buildings across the United States.
  • Analyze and design superstructures and foundations in timber, concrete, steel, and masonry.
  • Utilize latest technology and digital tools for design.
  • Complete training on assigned tasks.
  • Adhere to company code of conduct and policies.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed by business needs.

WSP is currently initiating a search for anEarly Career Structural Engineer to work out of ourDallas, TX office. Your Impact
  • Perform structural design of new buildings and restoration of existing buildings throughout the United States

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or closely related discipline.
  • 0 to 1 years of relevant post education experience
  • Excellent research skills with analytical mindset.
  • Familiarity with process and concepts for design/build.
  • Familiarity with relevant structural and civil construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
  • Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.
  • Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.
  • Experience with Building Information Modeling software, such as Autodesk Revit
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
    Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
  • Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
  • Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Recent/Upcoming Spring 2027 Graduates in an accredited Civil/Architectural/Structural Engineering, or related, Undergraduate or Graduate program.
  • Masters Degree in Structural Engineering is preferred
  • The successful candidate will have 0-3 years of internship experience in Civil/Architectural/Structural Engineering.
  • Experience using Revit, AutoCAD and/or Microstation software.
