Job summary

Duke University’s Center for Child and Family Policy is seeking a Project Planner I to support a portfolio of program, research, and policy activities focused on family economic security from prenatal to early childhood. You will manage multiple workstreams, coordinate across interdisciplinary teams, and contribute to policy products and dissemination efforts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience conducting research, policy analysis, program evaluation, or related work.
  • Experience working with quantitative and/or qualitative data.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information and communicate findings to varied audiences.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Demonstrated interest in policies and programs affecting children and families.

Responsibilities

  • Research, Policy Analysis & Data: conduct background research and literature reviews; organize and analyze data; synthesize information on safety-net and cash assistance programs.
  • Project Management & Coordination: coordinate projects across initiatives; manage timelines, meetings, and communications; support cross-organizational collaboration.
  • Stakeholder & Partner Engagement: build relationships with research, policy, government, philanthropic, and community partners; engage NC collaborators.
  • Writing, Grants & Dissemination: assist with grant materials and deliverables; contribute to reports, policy briefs, and dissemination of findings.
