Job summary

PA Consulting is seeking an Energy & Utilities Market Analyst in the US to conduct policy, regulatory, and market research and analyze impacts of developments. You will support strategy and stakeholder engagement and develop client-facing materials.

Job Description

PA's Energy & Utilities Policy & Regulatory team helps clients understand how policy, regulation, and stakeholder priorities shape investment decisions and the future of energy infrastructure. Analysts contribute to work that supports utilities, regulators, investors, and developers navigating complex industry challenges.

We’re seeking individuals beginning their professional journey in consulting as either a recent college grad or by re-entering the workforce following continued education and development. We welcome students graduating in Fall/Winter 2026 or Spring 2027, as well as individuals who have developed relevant capabilities through apprenticeships, workforce development programs, military service, community leadership, or other non-traditional pathways.

Through mentorship, hands‑on project work, formal development opportunities, and client engagements, you will build the skills needed for a successful consulting career.

As an Energy & Utilities Market Analyst at PA, you will:

  • Conduct policy, regulatory, and market research.
  • Analyze the potential impacts of policy and regulatory developments.
  • Support strategy development and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Help assess risks, opportunities, costs, and benefits associated with energy investments.
  • Develop reports, presentations, and client-facing materials.
  • Collaborate with technical, economic, and market experts across project teams.
Qualifications

  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.You’re able to simplify complex problems and ideas through structured analysis and clear thinking.
  • Curiosity and interest in conducting quantitative and qualitative research to answer complex business questions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams, disciplines, and seniority-levels.
  • Initiative, adaptability, and comfort working in dynamic environments.
  • Commitment to inclusive teamwork and respect for diverse perspectives.

Your background includes:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree expected by Fall/Winter 2026 or Spring 2027 in public policy, economics, political science, environmental studies, energy studies, or a related field. Non-traditional backgrounds and pathways welcome also.
  • Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word required.
  • Experience with research, writing, qualitative or quantitative analysis, and presentation development is a plus.
Additional Information

Hybrid working - our approach is to be in the office or on client site a minimum of 2 days per week. However, the actual time you spend and where you spend it will vary by role or assignment, including up to 5 days per week on a client site.

This salary range is specific to Colorado and is commensurate with experience, market data, applicant skills, internal equity and/or degrees/certifications. Salary Range: $86,750 - $106,050.
