Sylvania is seeking an Assistant Coach of Athletics to support the Head Coach in developing training programs, mentoring student-athletes, and coordinating team activities. The role emphasizes collaboration, sportsmanship, and academic guidance while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.

The ideal candidate has coaching experience, strong leadership and communication skills, and a commitment to student-athlete development in a dynamic school setting.

Formación

• Minimum 3 years of relevant coaching experience with proven success.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work with diverse student-athletes, coaches, and admins.
• Knowledge of applicable regulations and policies.
• CPR and First Aid certification required.

Responsabilidades

• Assist in the development and implementation of training programs for athletic teams.
• Support the Head Coach in planning and conducting practices, games, and other team activities.
• Provide coaching and feedback to student-athletes to enhance their skills and performance.
• Provide support and guidance to student-athletes in their academic success and achievements.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, procedures and trainings as governed by Idaho High School Activities Association and the West Ada School District.
• Maintain equipment and ensure it is in good working condition.
• Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that promotes sportsmanship and teamwork.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling, travel arrangements, and record-keeping.
• Act as a role model and mentor for student-athletes.

Reports To: Head Coach of Athletics

Job Summary

The Assistant Coach of Athletics supports the Head Coach in all aspects of the athletic program, including training, mentoring, and developing student-athletes. This role requires a dedicated individual with a passion for sports, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and implementation of training programs for athletic teams.
• Support the Head Coach in planning and conducting practices, games, and other team activities.
• Provide coaching and feedback to student-athletes to enhance their skills and performance.
• Provide support and guidance to student-athletes in their academic success and achievements.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, procedures and trainings as governed by Idaho High School Activities Association and the West Ada School District.
• Maintain equipment and ensure it is in good working condition.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years (preferred) of relevant coaching experience, with a proven track record of success.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of student-athletes, coaches, and administrators.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, FERPA, NFHS, IHSAA, and WASD policies and regulations.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
