Job summary

Billerud is seeking a Maintenance Planner/Coordinator for the E3 Paper Machine Complex in the United States. This role focuses on maintenance planning, safety, and equipment uptime, coordinating outages, and leading shutdown activities.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s in a related field and 2+ years of paper/industrial experience, with strong skills in MWMS, SAP, RCFA, and Excel. The position emphasizes safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop daily and weekly maintenance plans.
  • Coordinate equipment outage schedules/plans.
  • Lead shutdowns and safety work.
  • Support lock-out planning and emergency repair plans.
  • Analyze downtime and drive corrective actions.
  • Contribute to troubleshooting and maintenance optimization.
  • Ensure compliance with mill safety policies.

Summary Description: This position will coordinate maintenance and operations activities on the E3 Paper Machine Complex. Maintain a safe work environment by prioritizing safety work orders, leading safety work notification review meetings, and insuring safety work orders are completed in a timely manner. Maintain an efficient and effective maintenance planning program.

Key Accountabilities
  • Daily and weekly maintenance plans.
  • Equipment outage schedules/plans.
  • Leading MWMS T-Minus Process.
  • Lock-out planning and coordination support when needed.
  • Emergency repair plans.
  • Leading shutdown activities and utilizing resources.
  • Managing inspection/repair matrices for area equipment and ensure all inspections/repairs are. in compliance with 5-year planner.
  • Leading shutdown critique meetings and follow-ups.
  • Supporting best practice precision maintenance initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain an atmosphere of open communication at all levels.
  • Participate in analyzing equipment downtime and causes to implement corrective actions.
  • Participate in operational troubleshooting.
  • Proven commitment to all mill safety policies and procedures.

  • Bachelor s degree in pulp paper science, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering or a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years of related paper, operational, or manufacturing/industrial experience.

  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Understanding of planning and scheduling techniques.

  • Proficiency with the following systems: MWMS system, SAP (work order, requisition writing and management), RCFA tracking system, When Down Do, Microsoft Excel.
