Job summary

Schaeffler is seeking a Purchasing professional for North America-based E-mobility projects. You will organize complex purchasing initiatives, manage supplier integration into product development, and drive cost reductions while ensuring timely launches.

The role requires a Bachelor's in a related field, 1+ years purchasing experience in automotive, and strong English communication. The position can be based in Auburn Hills, MI or Wooster, OH and comes with a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, SCM, or Engineering.
• 1+ years automotive purchasing experience (3+ years preferred).
• Valid passport required to work in the USA.
• Fluency in English required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
• Experience with AI tools (chatbots, python, assistant models).
• Strong negotiation, project management, problem solving, and people development skills.
• Ability to interface with cross-functional teams at all levels (domestic and abroad).
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Self-motivated and results-driven.
• Authorized to work legally in the USA.

Responsibilities

• Organize complex purchasing projects with detailed requirements and negotiations.
• Define sourcing activities and execute project-related purchasing (Make-or-Buy analysis).
• Integrate external suppliers into PDP to ensure on-time delivery at SOP.
• Lead cost validation and alignment for components.
• Collaborate with interfaces across the supply chain and manage project changes.
• Coordinate with project teams to align purchasing with project goals.
• Lead E-mobility purchasing projects for cost reduction and timely launches.
• Manage project launches in E-mobility focusing on E-Drives and modules.
