Job summary

Prudent Technologies and Consulting, Inc. seeks an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to serve as the on-shift technical lead for a roofing manufacturing facility.

You will diagnose and resolve complex control and instrumentation issues to reduce downtime, working closely with mechanical personnel on shift and collaborating with Controls and Plant Systems teams as needed. The role requires hands-on troubleshooting in electrical, instrumentation, and controls, with the ability to work

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 5 years relevant experience, or an Associate degree with 3 years relevant experience.
• Strong hands-on troubleshooting in electrical, instrumentation, and controls.
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts (day/night).
• Ability to work independently as the on-shift technical lead.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the on-shift technical lead for electrical, instrumentation, and controls systems.
• Diagnose and resolve complex control/instrumentation issues to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with mechanical personnel on shift and with Controls and Plant Systems teams as needed.
• Provide clear, timely communication on issues and resolutions.

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly capable Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Technician to serve as the on-shift technical lead for electrical, instrumentation, and controls systems within an asphalt roofing manufacturing facility.

This role is critical to reducing downtime by independently diagnosing and resolving complex control and instrumentation issues without frequent escalation. The technician will work closely with mechanical personnel on shift and collaborate with Controls and Plant Systems teams as needed.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED + 5 years relevant experience
• OR
• Associate degree + 3 years relevant experience
• Strong hands-on troubleshooting in electrical, instrumentation, and controls
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts (day/night)
• Ability to work independently as the on-shift technical lead

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in process manufacturing (roofing, web handling, or similar)
• Siemens and/or Allen-Bradley PLC experience
• NEC and electrical distribution knowledge
• Experience with process control troubleshooting
• Experience working in high-uptime manufacturing environments
