Job summary

Austin Powder is seeking an E&I Technician to support electrical and instrumentation systems in a plant environment in the United States. The role reports to the E&I Maintenance Supervisor located in McArthur, Ohio, and emphasizes reliability-centered maintenance practices.

Responsibilities include installing, calibrating, and maintaining electrical equipment up to 480V, diagnosing faults with multimeters and diagnostic tools, and performing preventative and predictive maintenance on motors,

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience as an I&E/controls/automation technician.
• Experience with industrial PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and instrumentation.
• Proficiency with multimeters and diagnostic tools.
• Familiarity with CMMS and reliability-centered maintenance practices.
• Experience with industrial communication protocols and robotics preferred.

Job Summary

*SIGN-ON BONUS* The E&I Technician works closely with operations, engineering, maintenance, safety, and operations. The position reports directly to the E&I Maintenance Supervisor located in McArthur, Ohio.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment and systems up to 480V.
• Diagnose electrical faults using multimeters, ohm meters, and other diagnostic tools.
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on motors, drives, and MCCs.
• Troubleshoot and repair VFDs and motor control circuits.
• Install, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation.
• Perform loop checks, instrument calibrations, and verification of control system functionality.

Education and Experience

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an I&E technician, controls technician, automation technician, or similar role.
• Experience working with industrial PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and instrumentation.
• Proficiency with multimeters and diagnostic tools.
• Familiarity with CMMS systems and reliability-centered maintenance practices.
• Experience with industrial communication protocols preferred.
• Experience with robotics preferred.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

• Electrical and instrumentation systems troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, loop drawings, technical manuals, and ladder logic.
• Ability to assemble, troubleshoot, and repair complex automated machines.
• Familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, sensors, transmitters, and control loops.
• Strong mechanical and electrical skills, including electromechanical assemblies.

Work Environment

This position requires no travel. Time will be spent in all areas of the plant, both indoors and outdoors, in all-weather elements.
