Job summary

DHI Engineering is seeking a Civil Engineer E.I.T. with land development experience to join our growing team in Atlanta, GA. You will assist with grading, drainage, utilities and roadway design for single-family and multi-family projects, under senior staff and contributing to design deliverables and permitting.

Qualifications include a BS in civil engineering, active E.I.T. status (PE license preferred), 1+ year land development experience, and proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and ArcGIS.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS in Civil Engineering is required.
• 1+ year of land development engineering experience preferred.
• E.I.T. status or eligibility to obtain a PE license.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and ArcGIS preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proactive, detail-oriented and able to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist feasibility studies for project acquisitions and planning.
• Prepare civil construction plans for multifamily and residential subdivisions for permitting.
• Support Project Manager with design tasks, reports, site visits, RFIs, and as-built reviews.
• Coordinate engineering services including drainage, grading, and pavement design.
• Prepare hydrology and stormwater management reports for permits.
• Create lot-fit exhibits with detailed house plans for developments.
• Attend progress and agency review meetings and respond to review comments.
• Stay current with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Implement innovative design concepts for efficiency and cost savings.
• Demonstrate professionalism and meet deadlines; travel overnight as needed.
