Job summary

Bechtel Global Corporation seeks a senior construction supervisor to lead a craft team on the Lake Charles LNG project. You will coordinate craft activities, schedules, and subcontractor work to deliver on time and within budget.

The role requires strong leadership, problem solving, and safety discipline, with extensive field experience in heavy industrial construction. This is a full-time, on-site position with Bechtel Total Rewards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) required.
• 8–10 years relevant experience; or 12–14 years in lieu of degree.
• Proven supervisory experience directing craft professionals on large-scale projects.

Responsibilities

Project Overview:

Louisiana LNG is located approximately 11 miles southwest of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The project includes a mid-scale, mixed-refrigerant Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on the west side of the Calcasieu River. There are five identical process plants. Each process plant consists of one gas pre-treatment unit, one condensate stabilization unit, and four Chart heavy hydrocarbon (HHC) removal and liquefaction groups. The facility will include associated utilities, refrigerant storage, three 235,000m3 full-containment LNG storage tanks, and three marine berths.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will lead a team and supervise superintendents and/or craft professionals on a project. You will direct craft professional activities and work schedules, and coordinate subcontract work activities and team development. Your oversight will ensure craft professionals have the tools required to be productive, comply with project policies, procedures, and job site work rules and procedures, and perform within specifications, schedules and budgets. #LI-TH1

Major Responsibilities:

• Leadership / Supervision (Discipline Supervision up to 50 craft)
• Supervises and/or directs craft activities as assigned.
• Schedules work to be performed and reviews work accomplished by each craft.

Planning / Productivity

• Determines workforce requirements.
• Coordinates established area operational plans.

Tools, Materials & Equipment

• Monitors tool and equipment usage on the site.
• Oversees the preparation of Field Material Requisitions for tools and consumables and ensures that the crafts have the tools they require to be productive.

Safety & Quality

• Ensures the most current design document is used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.
• Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors' performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets.

Technical

• Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents
• Oversees engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8 -10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Demonstrated ability to motivate team members effectively & positively in a collaborative team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to problem-solve in high pressure situations.
• Heavy industrial direct hire construction experience in a supervisory role commensurate with the type of work to be undertaken.
• Experience in oil, gas, refinery, petrochemical, minerals processing, or power generating station construction.
• Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving ability.
• Advanced knowledge of Project Bechtel Standard Applications (BSAPs) including Setroute, Unifier, Aconex, DSCS, PTR, Agile, Navisworks, and other automation tools which are used on Bechtel projects.
• Advanced understanding of production management including scheduling.

Additional information: Work requires the physical ability to conduct field inspections including but not limited to: extensive walking in and around a construction site often in high heat and high humidity conditions, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces, and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress). Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.)
