Job summary

Elbit America is seeking an Electronic Assembler to support manufacturing of circuit card assemblies, electro-mechanical components, and refined processes. You will inspect, audit, and drive improvements in materials, assemblies, and final items, ensuring quality and conformance.

The role requires hand soldering, wiring, and mechanical assembly, with attention to documentation and certifications. A 9/80 schedule and comprehensive benefits accompany this opportunity.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required with electronics focus preferred.
  • J-STD, IPC-610 and IPC 7711/7721 certifications are required or highly desirable.
  • Minimum two years Electro-Mechanical Assembly experience; five years preferred.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, blueprints and schematics; perform inspections.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble electronic assemblies, wiring and mechanical components, including soldering and rework.
  • Perform in-process and final inspections and audits; document results.
  • Recommend product and process improvements based on findings.
  • Potting, encapsulating, coatings, and paint touch-ups as required.
  • Verify certificates of conformance and ensure proper documentation.

Job Summary:

The Electronic Assembler will be responsible for manufacturing efforts in the areas of circuit card assembly, electro-mechanical assembly and the development and refinement of manufacturing processes, inspection and/or auditing of raw materials components, assemblies, standard parts, system assemblies, end items in-process, and final acceptance of their own work.

Responsibilities and Tasks:
  • Performs set up and assembly of electronic assemblies including; wiring, hand soldering, component placement and mechanical assembly as well as rework and repair.
  • Performs in-process and final assembly inspections and audits as required.
  • Makes verbal or written recommendations for product and process improvements
  • Perform potting/encapsulating, mixing of resins and epoxies.
  • Sprays or applies protective coatings, as required.
  • Applies minimal touch up paint as required using paint pens or similar controlled devices.
  • Wears personal protective equipment in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Verifies documentation for completeness, accuracy and acceptable Certificates of Conformance.
  • Accepts or rejects items inspected/audited and records the results of inspections.
  • Records results of inspections in computer data systems.
  • TYPICAL TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
  • Tools used: Standard and precision hand tools, electrical hand tools, soldering devices, microscopes, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, dial indicators, gauge blocks, scales, inspection stamps.
  • Equipment Used: Continuity test equipment, automated manufacturing equipment, standard personal computers and citrix terminals, automated and manual test equipment, electronic meters, and computer operated equipment, use surface plate and setup accessories, hardness testing equipment, and special testing devices and equipment.
Education, Experience, License, or Certification:
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • J-STD certification
  • IPC-610 certification
  • IPC 7711/7721 (rework and repair certifications)
  • Two years minimum (five years preferred) experience in an Electro Mechanical Assembly role or related position.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of inspection procedures and the use of inspection tools such as gauges and micrometers.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Hand soldering and solder joint rework, mechanical assembly, and wire harness assembly skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and understand wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, and other written instructions.
  • Use simple arithmetic including decimals and fractions, metric/standard measurement conversion and hand tools and test equipment as required by the work operations described.
  • Demonstrated ability to self-verify workmanship and/or processes that are required as part of task completion.
  • Perform inspections using written and visual instruction including wiring diagrams, blueprints, schematics and visual aids.
  • Communicate in writing and clearly and adequately document discrepancies.
