Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking an E-commerce Driver for the Aisles Online team. You will be the face of Hy-Vee at the customer's door, ensuring orders arrive safely, on time, and with friendly service.

You will load orders, deliver to customers, verify ages for alcohol, and handle payments when required. The role emphasizes excellent customer interactions, organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, on‑the‑go environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid driver's license with no DOT restrictions; must be 21 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service at each delivery.
• Organize, load online orders and ensure proper temperature control.
• Deliver products safely and on time, following traffic laws and delivery requests.
• Validate customer age for alcohol orders and collect payments as needed.
• Process orders through the POS system and manage cash handling.

You'll be the face of Hy-Vee at the customer's door, making sure every order arrives safely, on time, and with the kind of friendly service that keeps customers coming back. From organizing and loading orders to navigating deliveries and handling payments, your work directly impacts customer satisfaction.

What You'll Do

• Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers warmly and going the extra mile to make every interaction a positive one
• Organize, gather, and load online orders, ensuring all items are stored at the proper temperature throughout the entire process
• Deliver products to customers in a safe, timely, and efficient manner, following all traffic laws and customer delivery requests
• Validate customer age and gather required information for orders containing alcohol
• Collect payment, make change, and return payments and beginning cash to the store as needed
• Select, scan, and bag items from all temperature zones and process customer orders through the POS system as needed
• Maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of delivery vehicles, inside and out
• Substitute products for customers upon request or when items are unavailable
• Maintain compliance with Hy-Vee's dress code, hygiene standards, and all company policies
• Assist with other tasks and special projects as needed

You'll receive direction and support from: Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers of Store Operations, Perishables, and Health Wellness Home, and Online Shopping Department Manager

Reporting Relationships

Accountable and Reports to: Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers of Store Operations, Perishables, and Health Wellness Home, and Online Shopping Department Manager

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Valid driver's license with no DOT restrictions required; must be 21 years of age or older

Physical Requirements

• Frequently stand and walk throughout a shift in sales, food service, or delivery areas
• Where applicable to the role: ability to safely use sharp knives and blades for food preparation
• Where applicable to the role: exposure to heat- and burn-related hazards associated with cooking, baking, or grilling equipment
• Where applicable to the role: ability to operate a delivery vehicle in accordance with applicable DOT standards
• Perform repetitive standing, walking, reaching, and bending associated with order fulfillment, POS transactions, and cleaning/sanitation duties

Working Environment

This is an active, on-the-go role with continuous exposure to dust, noise, temperature extremes, dampness, vibrations, and equipment movement hazards. There is significant pressure to deliver product in a timely manner. The role requires frequent entry and exit from a delivery vehicle, traversing staircases and uneven terrain to reach delivery destinations. Safety is always a priority, and training is provided to help ensure a safe and supportive work environment.
