Job summary

PAQ, Inc. is seeking an E-Commerce Clerk (Click & Collect) to fulfill online grocery orders and hand them to customers when they arrive at the store. This role emphasizes accuracy and delivering a positive shopping experience for all customers.

You will work in a fast-paced retail environment, using handheld devices to locate items, check substitutions, and process checkout while maintaining excellent service. This role requires flexibility with weekend/evening shifts.

Qualifications

• Retail or customer service experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Click & Collect Clerk is responsible for fulfilling grocery orders placed online and delivering them to customers when they arrive at the store. This role provides a positive shopping experience for all customers and supports other customer service deliverables across departments.

Essential Functions of the Position

• Shop and stage orders for online shoppers.
• Deliver orders to customers upon arrival.
• Review orders from the app and locate items.
• Communicate with customers when items are unavailable.
• Check expiration dates, quality, and condition of all items when selecting.
• Complete checkout transactions.
• Return misplaced items to shelves (go‑backs).
• Maintain inventory control for freshness, product quality, and turnover.
• Provide friendly and helpful customer service at all times.

Knowledge

• Familiarity with product location in the store.
• Ability to identify appropriate product substitutions based on customer input.
• Understanding of customer service best practices and strategies to enhance customer engagement.

Skills

• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
• Strong time-management skills, meeting strict timelines for fulfillment and task prioritization during peak hours.
• Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in product selection/order fulfillment.
• Basic technology skills to use handheld devices and navigate applications.

• Ability to lift and carry groceries, using proper ergonomics and exercising product care.
• Ability to adapt to changing situations, manage multiple demands, and work effectively with diverse personalities.
• Ability to work in a high-volume environment while remaining calm under pressure and maintaining a professional disposition.

Physical Requirements

• Stand and walk for extended periods (typically eight-hour shifts).
• Lift and carry items up to 25 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Perform repetitive motions such as reaching, bending, stooping, squatting, and handling products.
• Move quickly and efficiently to assist customers and manage workload.
• Maintain physical stamina to work in a fast-paced environment.

Work Conditions

• Work Hours: Vary, with availability required on weekends, evenings, and holidays; typically eight-hour shifts for full-time employees.
• Environment: Indoor and outdoor with exposure to seasonal weather conditions.
• Primary Workstations: Throughout store, at check stands, and parking lot.
• Dress Code: Professional and presentable attire as determined by store management.
• Exposure: May be exposed to moving mechanical parts and cleaning chemicals.
• Noise Level: Usually low to moderate.
• Interaction: Constant interaction with customers and team members in a fast-paced retail environment.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• No prior experience required; on-the-job training provided.
• Previous retail or customer service experience is a plus.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Compensation

Pay Range: $16.90 - $21.50 per hour. Base pay will be determined based on qualifications, experience, internal equity, and business need.
