Job summary

Tuloso-Midway ISD seeks a Special Education Teacher to provide learning activities designed to help students grow intellectually, emotionally, and socially. Develop or modify curricula and prepare lessons to student ability levels, in self-contained, team, or itinerant settings.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and a valid Texas special education teaching certificate with endorsements, plus knowledge of ARD/IEP processes and collaboration with parents and staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsements for assignments.
• Knowledge of ARD Committee process and IEP goal setting and implementation.
• Experience: At least one year student teaching or approved internship.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with students, parents, and staff to develop IEP through ARD for each student assigned.
• Implement instructional, therapeutic, or skill development program and show written evidence of preparation.
• Plan and use instructional strategies and materials reflecting learning styles and needs of students.
• Work with classroom teachers to modify regular curricula and assist SPED students in regular classes.
• Participate in ARD Committee meetings regularly.
• Assess student learning styles and use results to plan activities.
• Present subject matter according to IEP guidelines.
• Use technology in teaching and learning.
