Job summary

As a Dyno Operator you will test units on the dyno, inspect for defects, and ensure correct programs and data while supporting a fast-paced production line and helping teammates.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years old and have a high school diploma; dyno experience and mechanical ability are a plus.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds and stand for 8+ hours daily.
  • Willingness to work with chemicals and in a dirty environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the dyno to test transmission units and pass/fail based on data.
  • Ensure the correct testing program is chosen and monitor the test on the computer.
  • Identify normal vs. abnormal noises and prep units for the dyno; use the overhead crane.
  • Visually inspect units for defects, install/remove hoses, process at least 4 units per hour.
  • Verify serial numbers and build sheets match job/order numbers for shipment.
  • Use the computer system to monitor workload and shipping orders; maintain workflow.
  • Follow procedures; perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Suggest improvements; help train new personnel and work overtime when needed.
  • Follow directions from supervisors; communicate issues proactively.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workstation; be on time daily.

Job Description:

As a Dyno Operator you play a major role in the team of providing the best, highest quality, and most reliable transmission in the industry. You are our last stop in the process to test and verify transmission units operate within standards and everything is correct before shipping. This is key and very important in the remanufacturing process of transmissions and to all our customers. Your day will be spent inspecting, operating and thoroughly testing transmission units following our process & procedures. You must work efficiently, interact and help other team members to ensure daily demands are met and processes run smoothly on the production line.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate dynamometer (dyno) machine to test transmission units, pass/fail units based on data information
  • Ensure correct program is chosen & used for testing, closely monitor computer and unit while running test
  • Identify & differentiate between normal and abnormal noises, prep units for dyno, use overhead crane
  • Visually and thoroughly inspect units for defects, install & remove hoses, process at min 4 units per hour
  • Confirm serial number and build sheet to job/order number to verify correct unit was built & being shipped
  • Utilize computer system to monitor work load & customer shipping orders, keep an even work flow
  • Follow all process and procedures, perform and schedule preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Suggest improvements, help train new personnel and work overtime when needed
  • Follow directions from supervisors and managers, be proactive and helpful, inform supervisor of issues
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment, be at your workstation on time daily

  • Must be 18 years old, high school diploma, previous dyno experience and mechanical ability a plus
  • Willingness and understanding you will get dirty at times, and will have to work with chemicals
  • Skill and ability of working with your hands, hand tools (must provide your own) and other instruments
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand & work on your feet for 8+ hours a day and under pressure at times
  • Have a Can-Do Attitude, with good time management, communication and decision-making skills
  • Self-starting and motivated; believe in teamwork and uphold the ability to always help others
