Job summary

Elevate Christian Church, a newly formed congregation in O’Fallon, Illinois, seeks a full-time youth minister with the option to begin part-time for growth into full-time. The role centers on leading Children & Youth Ministry with a team of volunteers, coordinating weekly youth meetings for grades 6–12, and overseeing curricula and related events.

The position requires biblical teaching, active involvement in church life, and a heart for reaching unchurched youth within driving distance.

Qualifications

Confessing and baptized, mature follower of Jesus Christ.
Called to children’s and youth ministry.
Will become a member of Elevate Christian Church.
Participates in Elevate’s activities when appropriate and feasible to do so.
Enter into a written agreement with the elders and will be bound by any job related requirements outlined in the church’s by-laws.

Responsibilities

Serve as Ministry Council leader for Children & Youth Ministry.
Recruit, oversee and train volunteers for children birth through 12th Grade.
Develop and lead weekly youth group meetings for 6th–12th grades.
Plan and oversee activities for birth through 5th grade.
Provide oversight of curricula for birth through 12th grade.
Deliver Bible-based lessons for various classes and events.
Encourage attendance at church camps and serve on staff.
Create and maintain a database of children and youth involved.
Make evangelistic and pastoral visits to youth as needed.
Investigate and implement ministries/outreach events in coordination with leadership.
