Qualifications
- Professional or college experience as a journalist and storyteller in a commercial television station.
- Experience using traffic systems preferred.
- Ad-lib in breaking news situations.
- Clear speech and basic knowledge of computers and social media.
- Familiar with street and highway names and directions; quick to learn.
- Must be creative and work well with others.
- Related military experience will be considered.
Responsibilities
- Prepare morning report with dynamic graphics.
- News gather for traffic reports.
- Provide concise live traffic reports for morning show and, as needed, evening shows.
- Research and report up-to-the-minute traffic conditions.
- Communicate important traffic information to the show producers and anchors promptly.
- Ensure graphics, video and live shots are used accurately.
- Share morning traffic information to viewers via the website, app and social media.
- Produce transportation-related stories and present traffic information in the field.
- Produce and anchor breaking news updates during the morning newscast.
