Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an Educational Support Specialist to coordinate interventions and assist students in achieving academic success. You will instruct in multiple subjects using varied methods, prepare course outlines, and collaborate with teachers and parents to improve attendance.

The role requires strong organization, excellent communication, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Training in Google Suite and record-keeping is preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to teach and delegate responsibility to students.
• Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to collaborate with field and corporate staff to implement the educational program.
• Availability 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., Monday–Thursday.
• Some teaching or tutoring experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare focused interventions to support students’ academic success
• Instruct students in multiple subjects using varied teaching methods, audiovisual aids, and other materials
• Prepare course-of-study outlines following curriculum and state or school requirements
• Collaborate with teachers on interventions to motivate students and prevent dropouts
• Assist students in selecting courses and counsel them on adjustment and academic problems
• Collaborate with parents, students, and teachers to improve attendance
• Participate in community functions, faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, truancy court, and teacher training workshops
• Meet with students and parents regarding student progress and problems
• Administer tests, evaluate student progress, assess work products, and record results
• Maintain attendance records, student files, and transcripts
• Assist with state-mandated student testing
• Maintain files for random, bi-monthly, and year-end audits
• Help maintain a clean, inviting, professional student center
• Perform assigned administrative duties
• Maintain a partial or full summer/winter student load during short-term enrollment periods
