Job summary

Woodridge School District 68 is seeking enthusiastic substitute teacher candidates for all grade levels and subject areas across six elementary schools and a junior high.

Candidates must hold a valid IL teaching or substitute license, be registered with the DuPage ROE, and complete a background check with a physical exam and TB test.

Salary for substitutes includes $19.67–$21.85 per hour for support roles and $160–$190 per day for certified positions, with retirees earning up to $200 per day.

Qualifications

• Valid IL teaching license or substitute teaching license is required.
• Registration with the DuPage County Regional Office of Education is required.
• Criminal background investigation must be completed.
• Physical exam and TB test results must be submitted.

Responsibilities

• Reports to the school office upon arrival before the official school opening.
• Reviews with the principal/team leader all plans and schedules for the day.
• Maintains routines and procedures of the assigned classroom.
• Assumes responsibility for pupil behavior.
• Teaches lessons outlined in the absent teacher’s plans.
• Prepares a written report detailing activities and problems encountered while substituting.
• Reports to the school office at the end of the day and performs additional tasks as assigned.
