Job description

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Assist the Teacher in carrying out the daily lesson plan and appropriate center activities
• Maintain a safe, healthy learning environment and provide for children’s feeling of security away from home
• Work closely with the Teacher to ensure developmental tasks are completed per ECLKC and OHS requirements
• Work closely with Nutrition Specialists to ensure healthy practices
• Assist with the recruitment of volunteers and future clients for service
• Mandate reporter of suspected cases of Child Abuse and Neglect

Qualifications:

We expect qualified candidates to have a high school diploma or equivalent, experience in a teaching environment or with low‑income families, excellent oral and written communication skills, basic knowledge of computer operation and software, an active and unhindered Driver’s License with personal reliable transportation, and the ability to successfully pass a Criminal Background check including FBI fingerprint and Child Maltreatment checks.

Physical Requirements

Frequent lifting (able to lift up to 50lbs.), bending, stooping movements within the classroom. Agility to move around classroom furniture and materials. Occasional driving to trainings.
