Job summary

Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine is seeking a Standardized Patient for its Simulation Clinic in Erie, PA. The SP will accurately portray a patient with a specific condition, interact with medical students during simulations, and provide feedback while maintaining confidentiality.

Must demonstrate acting, role-playing and strong communication skills. Completion of online training and ability to work flexible on-call hours are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college education preferred in health sciences or performing arts.
• Must read, understand, and write in English; acting experience helpful but not required.
• Must complete online training modules prior to working with students.

Responsibilities

• Memorizes and performs a case script portraying a health concern with accurate emotions and symptoms.
• Interacts with medical students during simulated history taking and examinations.
• Permits interviews and examinations, on camera or live, while maintaining confidentiality.
• Provides objective feedback on student performance using standardized tools.
