Job summary

Colorado Springs School District 11 is seeking a licensed Special Education teacher for Rogers Elementary School in Colorado Springs. This 1.0 FTE, 187-day position reports to the Principal and offers the district salary schedule for 2026-2027 and exempt status.

The successful candidate will plan standards-aligned instruction, differentiate for diverse learners, use data to guide instruction, collaborate with staff, and engage families to support equitable education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
• Valid Colorado Teaching License appropriate for assigned subject/grade level.
• Demonstrated knowledge of effective instructional practices, assessment, and classroom management.
• Preferred qualifications include a master degree, prior K-12 teaching experience, and/or bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish or other district-identified languages).

Responsibilities

• Plan and Deliver Instruction: design and implement standards-based lessons aligned with Colorado Academic Standards and District 11's instructional vision.
• Differentiate Instruction: adapt teaching methods and materials for diverse learning styles, abilities, and backgrounds; provide interventions.
• Assess and Monitor Student Learning: use multiple assessment tools and data sources to evaluate progress and inform instruction.
• Create and Maintain a Positive Learning Environment: establish a respectful, inclusive classroom culture and implement effective management strategies.
• Collaborate and Communicate Effectively: work with colleagues, administrators, and families; engage families regularly.
• Engage in Professional Growth: participate in PD and school improvement initiatives; reflect and improve practice.
