Job summary

Marion Community Schools in Marion, Indiana is hiring an Instructional Educational Assistant (Non-Exempt) to support students under the supervision of a building principal and classroom teacher. The role is 180 days with responsibilities across Special Education and general education settings.

You will relate to students and parents, assist teachers, and help maintain a positive learning environment while upholding confidentiality and FERPA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of 48 hours of college credit or Para Professional Test.
• Meet local, state, and federal programs, especially confidentiality requirements.
• Crisis Prevention/De-escalation and restraint training completed.
• Ability to relate to students, parents, and staff with dignity and respect.

Responsibilities

• Relate well with children and parents, treating all children, parents, and staff with dignity and respect.
• Assist teacher in any way possible.
• Assist in maintaining a positive learning environment in the classroom.
• Maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning of material.
