Job summary

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is seeking a Per Diem Simulated Patient to join NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi. You will learn, memorize, and portray assigned patient cases, collaborate with simulation faculty, and present histories with accuracy and empathy in diverse scenarios at Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma and any related experience in acting or healthcare is beneficial but not required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Experience as standardized patient or in healthcare is beneficial but not required.
• Per Diem rate is $30 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Learn, memorize and portray assigned patient cases per scripting.
• Collaborate with simulation faculty to ensure accurate portrayal.
• Present histories including medical, psychiatric, social and family history.
• Portray diverse backgrounds authentically and without bias.
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions.
• Provide actionable feedback to learners on performance.
• Complete evaluation forms to assist faculty assessments.
• Design and refine case descriptions with faculty for goals.
• Attend training sessions to stay updated on simulation methods.
• Maintain accurate records of encounters and feedback.
• Support course delivery by staging the simulation space and assisting.
• Hours may vary; full-day simulations run about 9–10 hours.
• Simulated patients may work across facilities.
