Qualifications

• / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Florida teaching certificate covering appropriate area of responsibility.
• / PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree from an accredited institution.
• / PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience managing business/department functions and staff.
• / KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Clear and concise oral and written communication; analytical and organizational skills; adaptability and multitasking.

Responsibilities

• Plan individually or cooperatively a program of study that meets the needs of students.
• Assist in establishing curriculum objectives and development of plans for implementation and evaluation.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to students' maturity and interests.
• Guide learning toward curriculum goals and establish clear lesson objectives to communicate them to students.
• Employ instructional methods and materials that meet stated objectives.
• Assess student progress and provide reports as required.
• Diagnose learning strengths and weaknesses and seek district specialist assistance as needed.
• Counsel with colleagues, students, and/or parents regularly.
• Assist administration in implementing policies and rules governing student life and conduct; establish classroom rules and maintain order.
• Plan and supervise assignments for support personnel and volunteers; evaluate their effectiveness.
• Use technology in teaching and the learning process.
• Maintain accurate records and reports as required by law and policy.
• Adhere to Code of Ethics and district policies.
• Support school improvement initiatives by participating in activities and programs.
• Recognize indicators of student distress or abuse and take appropriate action.
• Establish testing environment and ensure test security.
