Job summary

WBZ-TV in Boston is seeking a creative, energetic Reporter/Multi‑Skilled Journalist for TV and all digital platforms. The ideal candidate shoots, writes, edits, and reports high‑quality stories, owns social media, and connects with our audiences across broadcast and streaming platforms.

You will develop enterprise reports, cover breaking news, and collaborate with a team of managers while meeting daily deadlines. Flexible schedule and SAG/AFTRA union membership encouraged.

Qualifications

• 5+ years reporting experience at a news organization.
• Bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism preferred.
• Proven experience shooting and editing with small or mid-sized professional video cameras.
• Knowledge of social media and how to use it to promote to broadcast, streaming and the web; experience writing for the web required.
• Knowledge of iNews rundown system and Grass Valley Edius editing preferred.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, early mornings, holidays, and weekends.
• Must have a valid drivers license.
• Must be willing to join SAG/AFTRA Union.

Responsibilities

• Shoot, write, edit & report news stories for WBZ-TV. Will turn content, front multiple live shots, write copy for the station website and use all social media to promote their assignments.
• Perform high-energy, engaging live shots as assigned.
• Consistently develop and implement enterprise stories.
• Regularly supply news content to the station’s social media and digital platforms
• Maintain an unequivocal dedication to accuracy, fairness, and ethics.
• Ensure meeting all daily production deadlines.
• Strong writing and reporting skills; proven ability to react to breaking news situations
• Skilled interviewer & creative storyteller and writer.
• Key collaborator with a team of managers.
• Other duties, as assigned.
