Job summary

McMichael Taylor Gray, LLC seeks a Litigation Attorney for its South Carolina division. The ideal candidate is licensed in SC (and other states preferred) and will handle a caseload involving foreclosure, real estate, and related litigation, adhering to state/federal requirements.

Requirements include a J.D., active bar status, and 3+ years in finance/real estate litigation with strong writing and research skills. Travel may be required; competitive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active State Bar membership in SC (and other states preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of law practice focusing on finance/real estate or financial-institution matters with courtroom experience preferred.
• Experience in foreclosure, bankruptcy, or evictions a plus; willing to learn if none.
• Knowledge of FDCPA, RESPA, TILA; debt collection and real property law knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage litigation caseload including probate, title curative, foreclosure, title disputes, evictions, and related issues.
• Attend court hearings and conduct discovery as part of case management.
• Prepare and review filings, correspondence, and demand/ payoff documents.
• Resolve title issues and perform curative actions for clear title.
• Provide sound legal advice and research applicable statutes/case law.
