Job summary

AccentCare in Carthage, TX is seeking a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for PRN home health. You will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide treatment, educate patients and families, and maintain documentation.

The role requires an accredited associate degree, an active license, CPR certification, and the ability to travel to all locations. PRN schedule with competitive compensation reflecting experience; benefits include medical, dental, vision, PTO,

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited school of Physical Therapy
• Have a valid license, registration, or permit to practice in state of agency operation
• Must possess and maintain valid CPR certification while employed in a clinical role
• Must be a licensed driver who can travel to all business locations
• Be able to implement care plans and communicate any findings or changes in regards to patients back to the Physical Therapist and physician
• Ability to educate patients and their families in basic home safety and medical equipment safety

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and document treatment in accordance with physicians orders, agency policy and patient needs
• Document appropriate interventions, approaches, strategies, materials and establishing treatment priorities
• Provide organized and efficient patient treatment which includes advising, educating and counseling patients
• Present pertinent patient information to supervising therapist and keeps team informed of patient status
• Provide appropriate skilled treatment to patients according to patient needs and within the parameters set by the agency and payer
• Seek and accept assistance from team members in treatment planning and intervention
• Accurately document, complete and submit daily notes, assist with other required forms in a timely manner to prevent interruptions in patient care
• Meet agency productivity standards and use work hours efficiently
• Attend and participate in agency meetings and committees as assigned
• Appropriately negotiate patients' participation in treatment, treatment times and treatment plans
