Job summary

City of Albuquerque is seeking an enthusiastic early childhood teacher to plan and deliver developmentally appropriate activities for preschool children. The role emphasizes creating engaging indoor and outdoor learning environments and maintaining accurate program records.

You will collaborate with families, support health and safety practices, and participate in professional meetings to stay current with child development best practices. Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in elementary education, early childhood education, child development, family studies, or liberal studies.
• One year of classroom teaching or student teaching practicum experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide activities to develop social, emotional, physical and cognitive abilities of young children.
• Develop and arrange indoor and outdoor environments to facilitate learning and provide safe, healthy spaces.
• Maintain enrollment records, attendance and related administrative tasks.
• Administer minor first aid and document injuries or incidents.
• Monitor health indicators and report concerns promptly.
• Record student progress and maintain accurate records as required by policy and law.
• Schedule parent conferences and participate in home visits as needed.
• Ensure cleanliness and safety of classrooms and equipment.
• Respond to public inquiries and provide information within scope of assignment.
• Serve as liaison between the center, elementary schools and community groups.
