Job summary

Deptford Township Public Schools is seeking Substitute Pre-K Teachers to be used on an as-needed basis at Central Early Childhood Center. Qualifications

• Hold a valid NJ Substitute Certification or NJ Teacher Certification, or be eligible to apply for NJ Substitute Certification or NJ Teacher Certification.
• Required criminal history background and proof of U.S. Citizenship or legal resident status.

Responsibilities

• Reports to the main office at the beginning of the school day to retrieve materials and class schedules.
• Works with individual students, small groups, or the entire class to support teaching of content.
• Guides learning toward curriculum goals and objectives as per lesson plans.
• Takes attendance according to school procedures.
• Ensures safety and security of students at all times, including emergency procedures.
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to student maturity and interests.
• Maintains established routines and procedures of the school and classroom.
• Reports injuries, accidents, illnesses, and discipline problems promptly.
• Follows the daily schedule and remains in the assigned classroom until dismissal.
• Maintains confidentiality of student and staff information.
• Cooperates with other staff and upholds school rules and policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the building administrator
