Job summary

Altru Health System is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant at the Altru Performance Center in Grand Forks, ND. The PTA will work under the supervision of a Physical Therapist to treat patients and contribute to goal development and discharge planning.

Responsibilities include patient orientation, education, documentation, and coordinating schedules with an interdisciplinary team. The role requires BLS, a North Dakota PTA license, and a valid driver's license with a good record.

Qualifications

• License as Physical Therapist Assistant in North Dakota.
• Driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Orients patients, family and/or other appropriate parties to the purpose and procedures of the physical therapy evaluation and treatment.
• Provides education to patient/family under supervision of a Therapist.
• Obtains and documents all required patient information, including precautions, orders, and initial plan of care.
• Selects and performs evaluation and treatment methods appropriate to patient’s age, diagnosis, symptoms and orders, and documents per chart standards.
• Coordinates treatment schedules with disciplines; participates in discharge plan development and documentation in inpatient settings.
• Identifies changes in patient condition and takes appropriate action; reports and documents as needed.
• Completes patient charges according to provided treatment within timelines.
• Performs other duties as assigned to meet department/organization needs.
