Job summary

Universal Health Services in Reno is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to join the Northwest Specialty Hospital rehabilitation team. You will administer modalities under the supervision of the staff physical therapist and help restore patient functioning after stroke, injury or disability.

The role supports a full range of rehab services in a new facility, with private rooms, a therapy gym, infection control, and CQI participation.

Qualifications

• Nevada PTA license required.
• Current BCLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Providing treatment as directed by the staff physical therapist.
• Observe and evaluate treatment effect, discuss observations with staff physical therapist.
• Assess patient pain interfering with optimal level of function or participation in rehabilitation - make appropriate physician contact.
• Assist with formulation of a teaching plan based upon identified learning needs and assess effectiveness of learning; involve family as appropriate.
