Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to evaluate and treat patients of all ages. This role requires collaboration with therapists, documentation per policy, and ongoing education to meet program requirements.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) – IDFPR
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days – AHA
  • Board Eligible/Required to successfully complete board exam on next available date; required continuing education for acute stroke care

Responsibilities

  • Educates patients, family, and caregivers using effective teaching methods
  • Follows and adjusts plan of care based on patient response and evidence after communication with evaluating therapist
  • Documents per Clinical Documentation Policy (CTSCP67) and daily notes
  • Completes annual education for DNV Hip and Knee Replacement program (if applicable)
  • Follows treatment plan of care established by PT and coordinates with PT on interventions
  • Administers electrical stimulation treatment and aquatic therapy as prescribed
  • Documents in therapy EMR and communicates progress to referring provider
