Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
• Alabama teaching certificate for the designated grade level/subject.
• Meets suitability criteria under Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and Act No. 2002-457.
• Demonstrates proficiency in oral and written communication skills.
• Effective interpersonal skills, with collaboration to maximize student achievement.
• Ability to develop and implement curriculum for designated grades/subjects.
• Ability to use technology to communicate, plan instruction, and manage data.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates support for the school system and its goals.
• Demonstrates knowledge of child development and characteristics of students in the age group assigned.
• Implements prescribed curriculum with best instructional practices and varied teaching methods.
• Utilizes technology to plan and provide instruction and facilitate student learning.
• Models and facilitates the integration of technology in the classroom.
• Maintains safe, orderly environment for learning.
• Instructs and supervises student teachers, volunteers and paraprofessionals as assigned.
• Uses ongoing assessment to monitor progress and interpret data for planning.
