Job summary

The Greater Wichita YMCA in Wichita, KS is seeking a Personal Trainer to enhance member engagement in the wellness center. You will guide fitness goals, provide equipment orientation, and support lifestyle changes through coaching and practical exercises.

Responsibilities include assessing biometric data, delivering personal training sessions, and ensuring safety and adherence to YMCA guidelines while building positive relationships with members and working as part of a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Track 1: 4-year degree + Fitness Certification.
• Track 2: No 4-year degree, fitness certification required.
• Track 3: 4-year degree + no fitness certification.
• Track 4: No 4-year degree + no fitness certification.

Responsibilities

• Assess biometric data and determine medical clearance needs.
• Administer Personal Training Appointments per YMCA guidelines.
• Apply strength/conditioning principles per ACSM guidelines.
• Provide a free program demo for no-shows or cancellations.
• Refer members to a doctor when health questions arise.
• Maintain equipment safety and report concerns promptly.
• Enforce wellness center policies and build member relationships.
• Attend required trainings and maintain certifications.
