Austin Peay State University, Department of Theatre and Dance, seeks temporary, part-time adjunct faculty in Theatre, Musical Theatre, Design, and Dance. The department, housed in the Trahern and Memorial Health Buildings, produces six shows a season including plays, musicals, and dance concerts.

Primary duties include teaching various dance styles and theatre courses, with opportunities to contribute to sewing, script analysis, and somatics as needed.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or documented extensive, professional career or professional certification.
• Demonstrated success as a teacher preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach Practical Theory 1 and 2 (Music) — Private Voice Instruction (1/2h or 1h), Introduction to Dance (lecture).
• Teach Fundamentals of Dance (studio).
• Instruct Modern, Ballet/pointe, Jazz and Tap Dance at all levels.
• Teach African, West African, Afro-Caribbean, World Dance.
• Instruct Hip-Hop Dance and Fitness for Dancers (Pilates, Yoga).
• Deliver Dance for Musical Theatre.
• Teach Introduction to Theatre — Acting I — Makeup.
• Assist with sewing, script analysis, somatics or similar department needs as required.
