Job summary

The School of Science and Technology is seeking a Substitute to act in lieu of the regular classroom teacher. The role reports to the campus principal and requires stepping in during the regular school day.

Responsibilities include following lesson plans, keeping attendance, maintaining classroom routines, and communicating with school staff. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred and prior student interaction experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution (preferred).
• Experience working with students (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated. Performs duties as the regular classroom teacher would.
• Checks the class roll and records absences and tardiness as directed.
• Maintains classroom routines and follows lesson plans to support student learning.
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for students’ development.
• Guides student learning toward curriculum goals and maintains disciplinary standards.
• Reports any serious problems to the principal or supervisor and leaves a summary of daily work.
